Come and take your bride price, ex-wife tells Odion Ighalo

The public spat between former Nigerian international Odion Ighalo and his ex-wife, Sonia, has taken a another turn.
Sonia has requested that Ighalo retrieve the bride price he paid during their traditional wedding, citing her father’s sole sponsorship of the event.
Thediscovererng.com reports that this development comes after days of subtle jabs between the former couple. Recently, Sonia commented on rumors of Ighalo’s planned remarriage, prompting him to ask her to desist from meddling in his affairs.
In a scathing post, Sonia revealed that she had previously arranged for Ighalo to collect his bride price, but his family failed to show up, wasting her resources.
“Make plans to collect your bride price,” she wrote. “Remember when I planned this three or four years ago, but your family didn’t turn up? After planning a lovely farewell party with lots of food and entertainment, you all wasted my money.”
Sonia also criticized Ighalo’s family for disrespecting her father and his elders during their traditional marriage, claiming his brother expressed fear of meeting her father.
“Your mother’s children disrespected my father and his elders by keeping them waiting,” she stated. “Your older brother claimed he was afraid of my father and couldn’t visit his home.”
Sonia concluded by inviting Ighalo’s representatives, including his brother, Sir Clement Ighalo, to collect the bride price.
“Please send your village representatives or esteemed Sir Clement Ighalo, who is first in charge, to collect the bride price. Done, Sir.”
The ongoing feud between Ighalo and Sonia continues to unfold, with no signs of resolution in sight.
