This initiative continues Davido’s tradition of giving back, which began in 2021 when he donated over ₦200 million to orphanages nationwide after raising the funds through his social media followers. At the time, he personally added ₦50 million to the donations.
The Davido Adeleke Foundation, established in 2022, has since become a vehicle for his charitable activities. The foundation has worked closely with other organizations to provide support for vulnerable children. In July 2023, Davido announced that the foundation had donated over ₦200 million to orphanages, benefiting 13,818 children.
In a previous press release, the singer expressed his passion for assisting underserved communities, saying, “I founded the DAF in 2022 with a strong desire and passion to continually assist and create a proper framework for ongoing charitable works to benefit the good people of Nigeria. Through this foundation, we have raised millions of Naira and significantly improved the lives of countless children.”
Davido’s ongoing commitment to philanthropy has earned widespread admiration, with fans and the public praising his efforts to uplift communities and provide hope to those in need.
