Dilapidated Gombe-Bauchi road: Group calls for reconstruction

A pressure group in Gombe State known as ‘Initiative for Good Leadership and Development’ has appealed to the Federal Government and the States of Bauchi and Gombe to immediately reconstruct the deplorable Bauchi-Gombe road.
According to Tasi’u Muhammad Pantami, Public Relations Officer of the organization, the road has become a death trap, causing frequent accidents and loss of lives and properties.
He noted that the road’s condition is not only endangering lives but also hampering socio-economic progress, growth, and development in the region.
Pantami emphasised the importance of road infrastructure in connecting communities, facilitating trade and industrialisation, and promoting tourism development.
He urged the governments and elected representatives to prioritise the reconstruction of the road to alleviate the suffering of commuters and foster economic growth and development.
“We believe that reconstructing the road will demonstrate the commitment of the governments and representatives to the welfare of the electorates.”
