DSS recovers N26.5m, rescues singer’s mother

Department of State Services operatives (DSS) engaged with suspects in connection with the kidnapping of Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu, mother of Kano-based Hausa singer Dauda Rarara, resulting in the death of one kidnapper as one other arrested.
Unknown individuals had forcibly entered the residence of Dauda Rarara’s mother in Kahutu village, Danja Local Government Area of Kano State, where she was kidnapped on Friday, June 28, 2024.
Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu was released from captivity 20 days after being taken, and is now safe.
A highly placed source in the secret service revealed that N26.5 million was also recovered in a covert operation.
A law enforcement operation was conducted by the Kano command’s tactical team, acting on credible information, resulting in the disruption of a group of individuals in Makarfi bush, who were allegedly in the process of distributing funds.
“One Hamisu Tukur, is currently in custody with gunshot injuries, while Bature was killed,” the source said.
