FG appoints 6 state governors as board members

The Federal Government, through the National Economic Council (NEC), has approved the appointment of six state governors to the Board of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, a move aimed at strengthening the company’s leadership.
The six governors, appointed from Borno, Katsina, Imo, Ekiti, Kwara, and Akwa Ibom States, serve as regional ambassadors, representing the interests of their respective geopolitical zones.
Additionally, Mr. Wale Edun, who serves as both the Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, delivered a comprehensive briefing on the nation’s current financial situation.
He reported that the Excess Crude Account holds $473,754.57, the Stabilization Account has ₦28,738,722,369.83, and the Natural Resources fund contains ₦53,891,102,650.71.
President Tinubu also an approved an uplift grant under the National Construction and Household Support Programme for 3.6m Nigerian families.
This program aims to provide financial support to 100,000 families in each state, with a monthly stipend of N50,000 for a duration of three months.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Presidential spokesman, revealed that the disbursement of the Tinubu uplift grant to families will take place over a three-month period.
