France speaks amidst relocation of foreign military base to Nigeria

The French Government has reacted to the Federal Government of Nigeria’s resolve not to allow foreign military bases in the country.
Speaking through it’s Embassy in Nigeria, the French government backed the Nigerian Government as it ruled out the establishment of foreign military bases in Nigeria.
Recall that the federal government on Monday said it will not allow any foreign military base in the country.
While reacting, French Embassy in Nigeria revealed that there was no such plan.
The Head of Communication at the Embassy of France in Nigeria, Onyinye Madu, said, “The French Embassy in Nigeria would like to point out that contrary to the claims made in the open letter quoted in the article, no discussions have taken place or are planned between France and Nigeria regarding the relocalisation of military bases.”
