German star Musiala admits love for Africa delicacy ‘fufu’

Jamal Musiala, Bayern Munich midfielder, has spoken of his admiration for Nigerian culture while also proclaiming his love for African delicacy ‘fufu’.
Musiala, a guest on the popular show ‘How Hungry Are You’ by Chef Serge Ibaka, admitted that he had never been to Nigeria, the country of his father, but said he grew up knowing a lot about Nigeria and African cultures.
“I’ve never been to Africa before even though I always wanted to but we’ve never really had the time to go over there,” he said.
“My dad is from Nigeria and he always tells me about the culture and everything about African foods. My dad made fufu while I was growing up back in England; he made this dish (fufu) every other day.”
The Bayern ace was born in Stuttgart to a Nigerian father and a German mother with a Polish background before being raised in England from the age of seven after his family moved to the UK.
Regarded as one of the biggest superstars of this generation, the versatile 21-year-old attacker was eligible to play for four countries (Nigeria, Germany, Poland and England) but he opted to play for Die Mannschaft.
The 21-year-old midfielder was cheekily asked by Ibaka about the country he loves the most between Nigeria and Germany.
Musiala gave a diplomatic response, respectfully avoiding picking between the two countries.
He said, “Out of respect, I can’t answer that. I have respect for both. I love Nigeria and Germany,”.
In his 27 Germany appearances, Musiala has netted two goals.
