Gloryland Baptist Church dedicates multi-billion Naira church building

Gloryland Baptist Church, FHA, Lugbe in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has dedicated its over 2,000-seat capacity multi-billion naira new church building complex.
Speaking during the Dedication Ceremony and 20th Anniversary of the Church in Lugbe Abuja, the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Reverend Dr Isreal Akanji, congratulated the Pastor of the Church, Reverend (Dr) Niyi Ogundipe and the entire members for the successful completion of the new church building .
Akanji used the occasion to admonish Christians to be committed to the service of God and humanity towards attracting divine favour and blessings in their endeavour.
He equally advised members of Gloryland Baptist Church not to relent in working for the propagation of the gospel through more projects that would promote God’s kingdom.
While urging religious groups to continue to pray for Nigeria to overcome its security and economic challenges, Reverend Akanji emphasized the need for the Federal Government to put in place measures that would cushion the effects of the current inflation as a result of fuel subsidy removal in the country.
In a remark, the donor of the property where the church started before securing its permanent site, Mrs Mercy Agbelese, thanked God for how far He has led the church after twenty years of its existence.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Anniversary Planning Committee, Deaconess Mojisola Abiola, described the event as worthy of celebration.
Earlier, the Pastor of the Church, Reverend Dr Niyi Ogundipe, who went down the memory lane on the history and how the Church began in October 10, 2004, said the projects which were dedicated included the Church’s Building and Secondary School complex.
“Coming to the Church’s building Complex, there are about five different stages of hall to be dedicated and these are, Basement 1 which is like a Community Centre, Basement 2A which houses Teenage Assembly, Basement 2B houses the Children’s Department of the Church where we move to the office Complex,” he said.
Reverend Ogundipe, who appreciated God for His faithfulness upon the Church, thanked the leadership of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, FCT Baptist Conference and other Baptist families within and outside the nation’s capital for celebrating with Gloryland Baptist Church for the Church’s Dedication and 20th Anniversary.
The occasion, which featured cutting of the cake, thanksgiving, among others, was also attended by Prof. Simon Kolawole, the Dean, School of Post Graduate Studies, Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, clergymen and other dignitaries from far and near.
