Worried by the abandonment of the northern oil exploration project at Kolmani wells located in Gombe and Bauchi States, a pressure group known as ‘Initiative for Good Leadership and Development, has begged President Bola Tinubu led federal government to revive and complete the project.

The group in a press release issued to our correspondent on Friday by its Public Relations Officer (PRO), Tasiu Muhammad Pantami said the president had during his campaign in the north promised to complete the project but lamented that it is still abandoned.

He pointed the immense potentials of the project, which is expected to generate significant revenue for the federal and state governments, create jobs and stimulate economic growth.

Pantami also opined that the project will enhance energy security, attract investments, and promote technological advancements in the region.

He also tasked the governments of Gombe and Bauchi States on constructive dialogue with the federal government to ensure the revival of the project adding that the northern part of the country deserves to have its oil resources harnessed too in order to address its economic backwardness.

“Actualising the project will lead to oil production in the region, resulting in higher revenue generation for the federal and states governments, This additional revenue can be utilised for various developmental projects, infrastructural improvements and social welfare programmes, ultimately contributing to overall economic growth.”, he stated.
