Suspected Gunmen stormed Marke village, killed Kabiru Mohammed, the traditional ruler in Dandamisa Ward, Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
It was learnt that on Thursday at around 12:30 am, the gunmen burst into the victim’s home and ordered everyone to leave the compound.
They reportedly began searching for the young monarch who was hiding inside the ceiling alongside his elder brother, Tukur Mohammed.
According to a member of the community who pleaded for anonymity, the victim was later discovered by the gunmen who slaughtered him and set the house ablaze.
Reacting to the incident, Aminu Sani Marke, the councilor of Dandamisa Ward, said the body of the late village head could not be recovered as the house was set ablazed.
He said, “The gunmen spent about one hour operating in the village and went away with valuables worth millions of naira.”
The 30 years old, late Kabiru Muhammmad, was turbaned as the village head of Marke in 2018.
At the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Command to comment on the matter proved to avail.
