Hardship: Atiku blasts Tinubu, describes administration as ‘T-Pain’ in latest post

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of a disorganized and insincere approach to managing the country’s fuel subsidy, which he claims has plunged the nation into an economic crisis.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Atiku lamented the dire impact of the current economic policies on Nigerians, particularly highlighting the soaring inflation that has severely affected the material well-being of the citizens.
“The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country. As things stand, there will be no let up in the escalating inflation rate, which is drowning the material well-being of Nigerians,” Atiku wrote.

What has particularly caught the attention of many Nigerians is Atiku’s use of the nickname “T-Pain” to refer to President Tinubu, a moniker that has gained popularity among social media users in recent times. The term is often used humorously or sarcastically to express dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs under Tinubu’s administration.
Atiku’s reference to Tinubu as “T-Pain” has set the social media abuzz, with some finding the use of the nickname surprising, given its informal nature and the political rivalry between the two figures. Others see it as a reflection of Atiku’s frustration with the government’s handling of the economy.
Read some netizens’ reactions to Atiku’s bold statement below;

This latest critique comes amidst growing concerns over the rising cost of living, the removal of the fuel subsidy, and the seemingly unchecked inflation that continues to hit Nigerians hard. Atiku’s comments are part of ongoing political discourse surrounding the economic challenges facing the nation and the perceived lack of urgency from the presidency in addressing these issues.
As the debate intensifies, many are waiting to see how Tinubu’s administration will respond to the mounting pressure and whether any concrete measures will be put in place to ease the economic burden on Nigerians.
