Hisbah destroys N60m drinks in Katsina

The Katsina State Hisbah Board, on Sunday, announced the seizure and destruction of alcohol and illicit drugs valued at N60 million in Funtua Local Government Area.
The Hisbah Commander in the state, Dr Aminu Usman, revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in Katsina on Sunday.
According to Umsan, over 1,750 crates of alcohol, and about 33 jerry cans of locally-brewed beer were recently seized and destroyed in Funtua.
The Hisbah commander said the effort was part of their mandate of ensuring good morals among the people in the state.
While commending the officials of the board for their effort, he urged them to redouble their commitment to discharging their duties.
He also sought the support of religious leaders in the state for the success of the board, saying Hisbah does not belong to any particular group or sect.
He commended Governor Dikko Radda for his full support for the board to discharge its responsibilities.
Usman urged the public to collaborate with the Hisbah Board by providing genuine and reliable information about locations where immoral activities are taking place.
Usman emphasized the need for parents, teachers, and community leaders to redouble their efforts in imparting discipline and good moral values to the younger generation.
