I ‘ve lost a good friend, Buhari mourns Yohanna Dalyop


Former President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday mourned the death of Yohanna Dalyop, saying that he had lost a good friend.
In a statement by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, the former President said: “With the demise of Yohanna Dalyop, I have lost a valued friend, whom I have had the honour of knowing for decades.
“His insight on issues and nuanced understanding of matters, especially energy, had very few parallels.”
He said the late Dalyop had dedicated much of his energy and time in the research and development alternative energy sources for use in homes and institutions in Nigeria.
While joining family members, friends and professional colleagues, as well as the government and people of Plateau State in mourning the pastor and engineer, Muhammadu Buhari noted that Dalyop had successfully provided solutions to a number of challenges pertaining to energy in the country.
“He was a great statesman and a towering intellectual. His passing away is very saddening,” said the former President.
