In Abia, PDP gets new chairman

Abraham Amah, former State Vice Chairman (Abia North) and acting Publicity Secretary for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, has emerged as the party’s new State Chairman.
Amah secured his victory with 1,264 votes, outpacing his closest opponent, Olugu Kalu, who garnered 395 votes.
A well-known figure from Ihechiowa in Arochukwu Local Government Area, Amah has been a vocal critic of the Labour Party-led administration in Abia State. Despite recent political shifts in the state, he has remained committed to the PDP, standing firm among prominent figures who resisted the trend of defecting to other parties.
The PDP’s zonal leadership also saw new faces elected on Sunday. Onwuka Kalu was chosen as Chairman for Abia Central, Enyinnaya Appolos for Abia South, and Abia Elendu Kalu Elendu for Abia North.
With his election as chairman, Amah is expected to drive the party’s agenda forward as they navigate the political landscape under the current administration.
