In Lagos, lightning strikes 2 women

Two women have been killed in the FESTAC area of Lagos State.
The lightning that characterised a downpour on Friday night led to their electrocution.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a post on X.com on Saturday.
He stated that the victims were living in a shanty built under the high-voltage wires which caught fire as a result of the lightning.
Hundeyin wrote, “Somewhere on First Avenue, Festac, two women remained indoors during the downpour yesterday.
“Lightning struck, electrocuting them instantly and causing a fire outbreak. They lived in a shanty built under high-voltage wires.
“May their souls rest in peace.”
