Inuwa receives accolades for gratuity, pension payments

Gombe State governor, Inuwa Yahaya, has been commended for his administration’s prompt payment of pensions and settlement of backlog of gratuities to retirees.
An All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Gombe State and member of the defunct APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Lawal Bayero made the commendation in a press release issued to journalists on Sunday.
Our correspondent reports that the governor last week presented cheques totaling N4.2 billion to over 2,000 retirees in continuation of his settlement of outstanding gratuities.
He has so far settled N17.235 billion out of the N21 billion backlog of unpaid gratuities.
According to the APC stalwart, the settlement of outstanding gratuities to retirees demonstrates a strong commitment to the welfare of senior citizens in the state.
Bayero advised the governor to also embark on initiatives that will enhance the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state and focus on development projects at local governments level to stimulate economic growth and empower communities.
