Islamic Medical Association provides 2 hospitals in Gombe


As part of its contribution to the well-being of the residents of Gombe State, the state chapter of the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN) have provided two health facilities in the state capital.
Chairman of the association in the state Nasir Ishaq disclosed this on Tuesday while addressing journalists on the activities of the association.
He said one of the hospitals was provided at Dukku park and has a team of specialists drawn from its members that can attend to patients with various ailments and needs.
He added that the other one sited at bye-pass road was under construction noting that their services are accessible and affordable for all residents of the state irrespective of their faiths.
Also speaking, the chairman committee for projects execution and implementation Dr Ibrahim Adamu explained that deductions are being made from the members’ salaries to finance their activities saying other donors were free to donate for the on-going projects too.
According to him, the association built mosques in health facilities in the state including that of Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, Specialists Hospital Gombe and has ‘drugs cupboards’ in all general hospitals across the 11 local government areas of the state where less privileged patients can go and take prescribed drugs free of charge.
