The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted five Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for failing to meet the technical requirements for the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

This was revealed in a statement signed by JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, on Friday, April 25. According to the Board, the affected centres include:

1. Adventure Associate, Behind Sheshe Supermarket, Off Hadejia Road, Kano, Kano State.

2. Saadatu Rimi College of Education, Zaria Road, Naibawa, Kano, Kano State.

3. Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd, Centre 1, 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal.

4. Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd, Centre 2, 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal.

JAMB emphasized that while it regrets the inconvenience caused by the decision, it remains committed to upholding strict technical and ethical standards, warning that any centre, regardless of ownership, that falls short will be blacklisted.

Affected candidates have been urged to immediately reprint their examination notification slips to access their new examination dates and venues.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but we will not tolerate excuses from candidates who fail to reprint their slips to get their new schedules,” the statement read.

The Board also announced that over 900,000 candidates have successfully written the UTME so far, out of the 2,083,600 candidates registered for the 2025 session.

In a related development, JAMB disclosed that 27 impersonators have been apprehended and handed over to the Nigeria Police for prosecution. The Board reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating examination malpractice in all forms.

Meanwhile, the exam body addressed a recent controversy surrounding restrictions placed on hijab-wearing candidates at a particular centre. Dr. Benjamin confirmed that the issue was the result of actions by an “overzealous security officer” and has since been resolved, thanks to swift intervention by the university’s leadership.

“We extend our sincere apologies to the affected candidates and commend the leadership of both the centre and the university for their prompt intervention, which ensured that no candidate suffered undue disadvantage,” the statement added.

In an inspiring highlight, the Board also celebrated Olayode, a valedictorian from the AATU, who emerged as the overall best student with a CGPA of 4.98 after five failed attempts at the UTME.
