Kano APC sanctions ward leaders over Ganduje’s purported suspension

The All Progressive Congress (APC), working Committee of Kano State chapter, has sanctioned some ward party leaders who earlier suspended the national chairman of the party, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje.
Ganduje’s ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government leaders, had on Monday suspended the APC national chairman.
However, in a quick counter, the party’s local government officials hampered the suspension and sacked those behind it.
Inusa Dawanau, the APC Dawakin Tofa Local Government chairman, told newsmen that those behind the suspension of the national chairman were caught in anti-party activities, adding that their records of meetings with the opposition were exposed.
Adopting the suspension of the ward APC leaders, the state working committee of the party said they have sanctioned the perpetrators for six months, saying that a special investigations panel has been set up to verify several allegations against them.
Abdullahi Abbas, the Kano APC chairman, said the decisions of the LG party leaders have since been adopted.
He said: “We have evidence of meetings between the state government officials and those that suspended the National Chairman. The state working committee has agreed to sanction them for six months and they stand now suspended.”
However, Halliru Gwanjo, one of the party men accused of bribery against Ganduje, said they decided to suspend him from the party due to the allegations levelled against him by the Kano state government on bribery.
