Man accuses FMC Abuja of gross negligence in viral emergency case video

A viral video circulating on social media has set the social media abuzz after a man accused medical staff at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Abuja of gross negligence in handling an emergency case.
According to the distressed Good Samaritan who filmed the incident, he had picked up an unconscious man found by the roadside, believed to be on the brink of death, and rushed him to FMC for urgent medical attention. Shockingly, upon arrival, nurses allegedly refused to attend to the patient while he was still in the car, citing a lack of hand gloves.
Visibly frustrated, the man recorded himself outside the hospital as he confronted the staff, questioning why a federal medical institution could not respond to an emergency due to something as basic as gloves.
“This is Federal Medical Centre in Abuja,” he exclaimed in the video. “A man is dying in my car and they said they can’t touch him because they don’t have gloves. I’ll post this video and the FCT Minister will see it.”
The video shows him pacing and expressing disbelief as the staff continued to insist they couldn’t act without gloves. The standoff reportedly lasted over 15 minutes before the patient was eventually moved into the hospital.
As of the time of this report, the condition of the unconscious man remains unknown.
The incident has triggered widespread criticism online, with many Nigerians questioning the state of emergency healthcare in the country and the lack of readiness of public hospitals to handle urgent cases.
Critics are calling for an immediate investigation into the matter, urging the Federal Ministry of Health and the FCT Minister to take action against what they describe as a disturbing example of medical negligence.
