2027: Stop distracting Governor Sule, APC chieftain tells guber aspirants

Amb. Abdul Usman Shuaibu, the National Leader of the Progressive League of Youth Voters for Tinubu/Shettima, has asked all governorship aspirants in Nasarawa State to respect the authority of Governor Abdullahi Sule and stop distracting the governor for now.
Shuaibu called on the aspirants to refrain from premature campaigning and avoid distracting attention from the governor’s ongoing efforts to fulfill his mandate for the state.
This appeal comes as Nasarawa continues to face key developmental challenges that require undivided attention from the state’s leadership.
With the official campaign season set to begin next year, Shuaibu emphasized that now is the time for aspirants to focus on formulating their manifestos and policy blueprints, rather than engaging in early campaigning that could overshadow the pressing issues needing urgent attention.
According to the APC chieftain in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday, said: “This is a critical period for the state, and we must allow the governor the space and time to carry out his duties without unnecessary distractions. Premature political activities will not only undermine the effectiveness of his governance but will also divert focus from the real issues at hand.”
The statement also encouraged aspirants to draw inspiration from gubernatorial candidates in other regions, particularly the South West, South South, and South East. In these regions, many candidates have engaged in personal and community-driven projects that resonate with voters, demonstrating their commitment to development before entering the official campaign season. Shuaibu suggested that Nasarawa aspirants could adopt similar strategies, focusing on grassroots engagement and initiating projects that address local community needs.
“Aspirants should work on understanding the challenges facing the people of Nasarawa. Genuine engagement with communities, addressing real concerns, and proposing tangible solutions will help build credibility and trust among the electorate. This is the way to prepare for the upcoming elections—not through distractions and premature campaigning,” Shuaibu advised.
He further emphasized the importance of collaboration among political figures in Nasarawa to foster a positive environment that prioritizes the state’s development over individual political ambitions. By doing so, he believes aspirants can ensure that, when the time comes, their campaigns will be focused on genuine issues and solutions.
In conclusion, the Progressive League of Youth Voters for Tinubu/Shettima called on Nasarawa’s governorship aspirants to focus on future plans and community outreach while allowing the current administration to carry out its responsibilities without unnecessary disruptions.
“As we move forward, let us prioritize the progress of Nasarawa State. A united effort toward solving the challenges of our people will ultimately benefit the state and the aspirations of those who seek to lead it,” Shuaibu concluded.
