‘Nigeria will work under Tinubu’, 120,000 join APC

Over 120, 000 thousands new members, Thursday joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, declaring that the country will work under the current administration.
Leader of the group, who was a former governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the last Ekiti State governorship election, Engr. Erelu Kemi Elebute Halle, said she was leading about 120,000 new members to the ruling party.
According to her, one of the reasons for joining the APC is the ongoing reforms under the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which will eventually make the country to work.
Engr. Halle commended the Ekiti state governor Biodun Oyebanji for his role in bringing her to the APC.
“Due to my governor’s intervention I was able to make final decision on October 7, 2024, where we had it almost like a Congress in Ekiti State. On that day alone we had more than 7,000 men and women that defected to the APC.
“A lot of people across the six geopolitical zones, not only from the ADP where I contested but across all parties; From APP, ADP, AD, SDP, LP, PPA and PDP which I have had several meetings with them.”
When asked on main reason why she joined the APC, she declared that they believed that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu will work.
“In the North-east, North-west, North-central alone we have more than 70,000 people joining the APC with us while in the South-south and South-East, we have more than 50,000 people who are ready to be part of this Progressives moment. So it is like a face lift for the APC.
“We are joining APC to be a Progressives partner to Mr. President and his Renewed Hope Agenda and we believed that policies of the current government will work eventually.”
Earlier, while receiving the new members into the APC, the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, commended Engr. Halle and her supporters for believing in President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and their decision to join the ruling party.
Ganduje, however assured the decampees of equal opportunity in the party, adding that the new members will be carried along in all the activities of the party.
