The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted three days of cloudiness and thunderstorms across the country.
The three days cloudiness and thunderstorms is expected to commence Friday to Sunday.
In its weather outlook released on Thursday, NiMet predicted sunny skies in hazy atmosphere over the northern region on Friday, with the exception of Taraba state where pockets of clouds could be visible.
According to the agency, sunny atmosphere and patches of clouds are anticipated over the north-central region during the forecast period.
“The cloudy atmosphere is expected over the southern region with prospects of morning thunderstorms over parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states,” the forecast reads.
NiMet predicted sunny skies with prospects of thunderstorms in parts of Kaduna state.
“Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Nasarawa, Kwara, Kogi and Plateau states,” the forecast reads.
“Cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine is expected over the southern region with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Rivers states in the morning hours.
“Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over the region.”
NiMet advised the public to take necessary precautions as strong winds may precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur.
Airline operators were also advised to avail themselves of weather reports from NiMet for effective planning.
