NSCDC assures NYSC of security of facilities, Corps members nationwide

Following its resolve to ensure the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) in the country, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has assured the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of its readiness to intensify partnership with the view to improving security of Corps members and facilities across the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory.
Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, gave the assurance when he hosted the DG of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu in his office during a courtesy visit.
He said: “There has been a very cordial and formidable relationship between the NSCDC and NYSC which results in providing security across NYSC Camps in all states.”
While commending the new DG for rolling out his administration’s blueprint, the Commandant General pledged his agency’s maximum support to the scheme.
Earlier while stating his mission to the NSCDC, Brig Gen Nafiu explained that facilities of the NYSC, staff and members of the Corps are vulnerable to threats, hence the decision to identify critical stakeholders in the security architecture of the nation of which NSCDC is among.
The DG applauded NSCDC for its crucial role in providing protection at camps during orientation programmes, facilities and release of its training college at Katsina State which was used for orientation exercise for some states when such states were considered more vulnerable.
The DG who received Quarter Guard on arrival as a mark of honour in the military and paramilitary settings, assumed duty at the NYSC on the 6th March, 2025 and was accompanied on the visit by Directors and Principal Staff Officers.
