NYSC nullifies certificates of 99 corps members, 2 exempted individuals linked to UNICAL

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has declared void the discharge certificates of 99 corps members, along with the certificates of two individuals who were exempted, all of whom were mobilized by the University of Calabar (UNICAL).
As reported by thediscovererng.com these individuals were fraudulently mobilized by UNICAL during the service years of 2021, 2022, and 2023.
The NYSC Management has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the scheme by ensuring that only qualified individuals are recognized, particularly focusing on those who may have graduated from unaccredited institutions.
Consequently, the certificates issued to these individuals have been invalidated.
NYSC has called on Corps Employers, Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Corporate and Religious Organizations, Multi-National Companies, and Corps Producing Institutions to take note of this development.
Additionally, the public is urged to verify the authenticity of Certificates of National Service, Exemption, and Exclusion Letters through the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja.
