Ohaneze Ndigbo gets new president-general

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has appointed Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu Chukwu as its new President General.
His appointment is temporary, filling the remaining term of the late Ambassador Professor George Obiozor until January 10, 2025.
The appointment follows a series of unfortunate events, including the deaths of Obiozor in 2022 and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu in mid-2024.
To complete the tenure for Imo State, the state’s leadership proposed Nze Ozichukwu, whose nomination was approved by the Imeobi Ohanaeze.
The move was necessary to ensure continuity in the organization.
Ozichukwu brings extensive experience in management and development, having held leadership positions in various sectors, including banking, consulting, and public policy.
He has been a prominent figure in initiatives like the South East Development Council and the Cottage Industries Development Initiative.
His qualifications include advanced degrees from prestigious institutions such as Oxford, Harvard, and Cambridge. He has also contributed to national development, including serving on the Technical Committee for Privatization and the Bureau of Public Enterprises.
