PDP: Tension as Atiku reveals 2027 presidential ambition

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2023 election, has expressed his confidence that only God has the power to grant leadership position.
Speaking against the backdrop of reports surrounding his bid for president in 2027, which are thought to be causing tremors in the PDP, especially in relation to the outcome of the opposition’s 98th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, Atiku asserted that a higher force was at work and emphasized that God alone would ultimately decide who is in power.
Atiku, who noted these in a WhatsApp group chat with his supporters, also expressed concerns over what he described as ‘perceived betrayal’ within the PDP.
Saying that they believe that their collective efforts will eventually lead to victory, his supporters however expressed optimism and agreed with Atiku.
