Peter Obi would have been a better president – Senator Abaribe

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has said that Nigeria would have been better off if the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, had won the 2023 presidential election.
Abaribe, who represents Abia South in the Senate, made this statement on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday.
According to him, nepotism, which he claims thrives under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, would have been non-existent under Obi’s presidency.
“If Peter Obi had won, you probably would have seen a better Nigeria than what we are seeing today.
“Number one, he would not be as nepotistic as this government, he won’t, it’s not in him. That is just who we are, we feel for the other people,” he said.
Abaribe also criticised Tinubu’s appointment of four ministers from Ogun State, describing it as nepotistic.
He further stated that the people of the South-East should not wait for presidents to be fair to them, but rather take charge of their own development.
Abaribe lauded the arrest of Simon Ekpa, the self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra in exile, describing it as a welcome development.
He also advocated the release of Nnamdi Kanu, stating that it would help end the violence in the South-East.
