Police arrest 3 persons in Gombe over sales of adulterated foods

Gombe State police command have on Tuesday arrested three suspects for allegedly adulterating food stuffs and selling same for residents of the state.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command Buhari Abdullahi disclosed this while addressing journalists shortly after parading the suspected culprits.
According to him, on 9th July, 2024 at about 5pm, information was received by them from a good samaritan that the suspects namely; Saleh Sahabi of Dadin Kowa village of Yamaltu-Deba local government, Dahiru Yahaya of Dumbu village and Hassan Abdullahi also of Dumbu village all in Yamaltu-Deba local government were in the process of mixing dry okro powder with wood dust that may be sold for human consumption.
He said on receiving the information, police detectives from Dadin Kowa area command swung into action and arrested the suspects.
The PPRO noted that the police recovered the said adulterated dry okro powder and sent to the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) for examination and analysis.
“During interrogation, the said suspects have confessed to their crime and will soon be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.”, he said.
Our correspondent reports that the police also paraded suspects for adulteration of fertiliser, homosexuality, electric wires vandalisation
among other suspected criminals.
