A Bauchi based charity organisation, ‘Wunti Al-khair Foundation’ has embarked on distribution of rice to the less privileged Muslim communities across the 20 local governments of Bauchi State.
Our correspondent reports that the distribution of the Ramadan support is being conducted in phases after it commencement with beneficiaries from Katagum, Zaki, Gamawa and Giade Local Government Areas.
Programme manager of the organisation, Mustapha Ango, explained that the gesture aims to reach 250 beneficiaries in each of the 20 local governments, carefully selected from vulnerable residents, persons with disabilities, and other groups of needy.
He explained that the initiative is designed to bring much-needed relief to the less fortunate, especially during this fasting month of Ramadan.
Also speaking, an official in the foundation, Isiyaka Wunti, said in addition to the Ramadan food distribution, the Wunti Al-khair Foundation engages in various other charitable activities, including providing free medical outreach programmes and education scholarships for underprivileged members of society.
Beneficiaries of the programme have expressed their gratitude to the foundation. Auwalu Bala from Bununu in Tafawa Balewa local government said the assistance had brought joy to his family, while Larai Haruna, another beneficiary, revealed that she had no rice to cook before the foundation’s generous donation.
“The Wunti Al-khair Foundation’s selfless efforts have undoubtedly brought smiles to the faces of many families in Bauchi State, demonstrating the true spirit of compassion and generosity that defines the holy month of Ramadan”, they said. END
