Rivers sets date for local government elections

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has set date for 2024 Local Government Elections.
RSIEC after it’s meeting with key stakeholders on Monday revealed that the election will hold on Saturday, October 5th, 2024.
The meeting resulted in the release of crucial details, including the election timetable and guidelines, which will govern the conduct of the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Rivers State.
The announcement marks the beginning of preparations for the elections, after Governor Sim Fubara dissolved the former councils after their tenure expired.
With this announcement, the stage is set for the election preparations to commence, following the dissolution of the previous local government councils by Governor Sim Fubara upon the expiration of their tenure.
