Shehu Sani throws shade at El-Rufai over TV interview

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has stirred controversy with a cryptic post on his X handle, which many believe is a direct jab at former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
In his post, Sani wrote, “Neither in the present nor in the nearest future; No Nigerian President in his right senses will ever closely embrace or trust a man who repeatedly celebrated and gloated about sending President Yar’Adua to his grave. It’s a case of ‘if you can do this and say this about your own brother, what about me?’ No one will ever admit a man into his house who came with a sword stained with the blood of his brother.”
Although he did not mention any names, netizens quickly linked the statement to El-Rufai, given their long-standing feud and history of social media clashes. The former senator and ex-governor have repeatedly exchanged heated words online, with Sani often taking shots at El-Rufai’s political career.
The timing of the post has further fueled speculations, as it comes just after El-Rufai’s explosive interview on Arise TV, where he spoke about his strained relationship with President Tinubu and his uncertain future in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Social media users have since flooded the comment section with mixed reactions, with some supporting Sani’s stance while others accused him of reigniting old political grudges.
Read some netizens’ reactions below;
@am_saleeeem: One thing I like about Elrufai, is his boldness, he doesn’t go through corners. He go straight, mention names and put you in your place. Please do the same Senator.
@karovoni: Then it would be best not to betray such man in such a dishonest manner, publicly begging him to join your government when you knew you’d use and dump him. That’s such an area boy behaviour.
@Nainna_J: Chiani dey waste your time. Mallam is high in the sky more patriotic than you about Nigeria and sincerity to see its progress.
@Dekings66: Call names Mr man
@Ashiruraf: This interview of Mal El Rufai has shown that many people were not happy with the President not because of his policy, but because of those he appointed. Emir Sanusi said the same thing some time ago when he said no any President appointees is capable.
@Shuraim: It’s high time you start calling names , you’re keeping us in the dark Mr. Man
As the drama unfolds, netizens are keeping a close eye on whether El-Rufai will respond to the subtle yet pointed attack.
