Shettima loses mother-in-law


Vice President Kashim Shettima is mourning the passing of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar Albishir.
She succumbed to a prolonged illness on Sunday evening in Kano, at the age of 69.
The late Hajiya Maryam, mother of Vice President Kashim Shettima’s wife, Hajiya Nana Shettima, will be laid to rest on Monday afternoon in Kano, with funeral rites being performed according to Islamic customs and traditions.
Hajiya Maryam was a revered and beloved figure in her community, known for her exceptional kindness, compassion, and dedication to her faith.
She was a shining example of wisdom, generosity, and devotion, and her commitment to philanthropy had a profound impact on those around her.
As a respected matriarch, she offered guidance and support to countless individuals within her family and the wider Kano community, leaving a lasting legacy of love, kindness, and inspiration.
Ameen Amishi, an aide to Vice President Kashim Shettima, issued a statement offering the nation’s condolences to the Vice President and his family, while also celebrating the remarkable life and enduring legacy of Hajiya Maryam.
