Speaker declares Edo deputy gov’s seat vacant

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass has officially declared the Ovia North-East/Ovia South-West federal constituency seat vacant.
The seat was previously occupied by Dennis Idahosa, Deputy Governor of Edo State.
Idahosa was elected in the September 21 governorship election and inaugurated on November 12.
With the declaration of Idahosa’s seat vacant, the House now has about four vacant seats.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is expected to conduct fresh bye-elections; to fill the seats.
