Tinubu’s birthday message to Buhari: A note for file, by Olaleye Olawale

Former President Muhammadu Buhari, has remained the fall guy for whatever poor choices the Bola Tinubu administration has made in the last over one year.
Directly, and without mincing words, everyone in the current administration or affiliated to it has had to blame the former president for their woes, even though they are from the same political stock.
From the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu to Adams Oshiomhole, and other prominent leaders of the APC – north and south – they’ve all openly called out Buhari at will and lashed him as they deemed fit.
In all, President Tinubu has said nothing, let alone caution them, even if for political correctness.
It was shocking, therefore, to read, much less comprehend the content of Tinubu’s 82nd birthday message to Buhari. A simple greeting would have sufficed. It was even difficult to tell if he meant those words at all.
Excerpts:
“As you celebrate this remarkable milestone in Daura, we reflect on your years of dedicated service and leadership, which have significantly shaped the course of our nation.
“Your steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s advancement and unity inspires many, and your enduring legacy continues to guide our nation’s journey towards prosperity and stability.
“I will continue to build on the infrastructure legacy you bequeathed to our nation as the leader of our country’s first All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.”
Key words:
*Deficated service and leadership
*Shaped the course of nation
*Commitment to Nigeria’s unity and advancement
*Enduring legacy as a guide
*Continue to build on his infrastructure legacy
All of these for a man they all said messed up the economy in 8 years and made Tinubu’s take-off a living hell? That message must have been issued in error. Otherwise, this is at best hypocrisy on another level.
