Tinubu’s govt has excluded us from palliatives, Bauchi APC lament

The Bauchi State Tinubu/Shettima Elders Mobilisation Forum has raised concern over the exclusion of its members and other key stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state from key federal government’s poverty alleviation programmes.
The forum said the APC in Bauchi had been sidelined in the rollout of several welfare initiatives aimed at cushioning the effects of economic hardships.
Soeaking with newsmen at the weekend, coordinator of the forum, Muhammad Dambam, stated the need for APC members to receive special attention from the federal government, despite the state being led by the opposition PDP.
“Although the Tinubu administration has launched programmes to ease the suffering of Nigerians, APC members in Bauchi are frequently overlooked during their implementation.
“The federal government often partners state governments for these initiatives, but since the PDP governs Bauchi, our members receive little or no consideration.”
He urged the federal government to review its approach and provide special packages for APC loyalists in Bauchi, who actively supported President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima during the elections.
Dambam also highlighted the significant role the forum played during the election campaigns where it reconciled internal party factions and sensitised youths against political violence, contributing to the APC’s strong presence in Bauchi despite losing the gubernatorial race.
