Transfer: Liverpool’s star joins Las Palmas on loan

Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic has completed a loan switch to Las Palmas until the end of 2024-25, subject to international clearance.
The midseason January transfer window closes on Monday, February 3, 2025, at midnight.
This is detailed in a Friday night statement obtained from the club website.
It was titled, “Stefan Bajcetic makes loan switch to Las Palmas.”
It read, “Bajcetic spent the first half of the current campaign with Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, making 19 appearances, including six in the Champions League.
“The 20-year-old has now departed Salzburg and sealed a temporary move to La Liga side Las Palmas for the remainder of the campaign.
“Bajcetic has played 22 games and scored one goal for the Reds since making his senior debut back in August 2022.”
Liverpool play Bournemouth in EPL game week 24, Saturday.
Though the January transfer window is a crucial mid-season period in European football, allowing clubs to strengthen their squads or offload players before the final stretch of the campaign.
In the English Premier League, it runs from January 1 to January 31, often leading to last-minute deals and dramatic transfers.
Unlike the summer window, which offers more time for negotiations, the January market is typically fast-paced and reactionary, with clubs seeking reinforcements due to injuries, poor form, or tactical adjustments.
High-profile signings, loan moves, and surprise transfers frequently make headlines, as teams aim to boost their title chances, secure European spots, or avoid relegation.
However, due to inflated prices and limited availability of top players, many managers approach the window with caution, making strategic moves rather than overhauling their squads.
