The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has reiterated the role of traditional rulers in national stability during a recent meeting with the Council of Southern Traditional Rulers.
The Governor made this known in a statement on Wednesday, stating that the delegation was led by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
He wrote, “I firmly believe that traditional rulers play a crucial role in maintaining the stability of our nation, and I buttressed this while hosting a delegation from the Council of Southern Traditional Rulers, led by Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR, the Ooni of Ife.
“The visit filled me with excitement as it underscored our shared commitment to fostering greater cohesion between the government and the traditional institution.”
He also stated that their discussions centred on strategies to enhance cooperation in promoting stability and development across the nation.
“I encouraged the monarchs to continue their invaluable contributions, partnership, and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and be assured of the government’s unwavering support because together, we can achieve a more unified and prosperous society,” he added.
