VIDEO: Aunty Ramota cries out amid homelessness, financial woes

Popular Nollywood actress, Ramota Adetu, widely known as Aunty Ramota, has shared a heartbreaking account of her current financial struggles and homelessness.
In a now-viral video, the actress revealed that she was recently left without a roof over her head after being asked to vacate her previous accommodation. According to Ramota, the lady she was staying with got married last month, and her husband was uncomfortable with Ramota’s presence in their home, leading to her eviction.
As if that wasn’t challenging enough, the comedian said a project to build her own house has been stalled. She explained that the individual helping her with the construction stopped due to undisclosed personal issues, leaving her without a permanent place to stay.
Ramota also accused her management of mishandling her finances. She claimed they misappropriated her earnings and deleted her social media accounts, including her TikTok, despite her hard work.
“I am currently stranded without accommodation,” she lamented. “The lady I was staying with got married last month, and she asked me to leave because her husband was not comfortable with me staying there. The man who was helping me build my house stopped because of personal issues. To make things worse, my management stole all the money I had. They even deleted my TikTok and every other social media account.”
Reflecting on her plight, Ramota disclosed how her management had been cheating her, taking advantage of her limited knowledge of the business side of things. “I worked so hard, but they kept cheating me because they thought I wouldn’t know how much we were really making,” she said. “Now, I don’t even have enough to rent a place.”
Despite her challenges, the actress expressed gratitude towards those offering help, but she maintained her desire to complete her unfinished home. “Someone kindly offered to rent a space for me, but I told them I want to finish building my house, even if it’s just one room, so I can finally have a place to call my own,” she added.
