VIDEO: I’m sorry for saying tithes is a requirement for heaven – Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has publicly apologized for a past statement in which he suggested that Christians who do not pay their tithe may not make it to heaven.
The prominent cleric, in his address to his congregation, acknowledged that his earlier claim was a mistake, clarifying that the Bible does not state that tithing is a prerequisite for salvation. A video of his apology has been making the rounds on social media.
Adeboye admitted his error, emphasizing that the path to heaven is based on peace and holiness, as outlined in scripture.
“I apologize for saying, ‘If you don’t pay tithe, you might not make it to heaven.’ I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible,” he stated. “What the Bible says is, ‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God.’”
