Why Davido, Chioma did not hold wedding in Southeast – Igbokwe

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has revealed why Davido chose not to hold his wedding in South-East.
He revealed that the traditional marriage was held in Lagos due to concerns about potential violence from unknown gunmen in the South-East.
As previously reported, the Afrobeats artist exchanged vows with his beloved partner, Chioma Avril Rowland, in a glamorous ceremony at Eko Hotel in Lagos on Tuesday, surrounded by a host of celebrity guests.
However, many people have been wondering why Davido chose not to have the traditional marriage ceremony at Chioma’s family home in Imo State.
In a controversial Facebook post, Igbokwe linked the non-occurrence of the traditional marriage in the Southeast (SE) to security challenges allegedly posed by groups such as IPOB, ESN, and what he termed “known Gun Men.”
He wrote, “Anybody who has Igbo blood running in him or her knows that there are known Gun Men in the SE and they are Igbo, our brothers and sisters. There are also ESN and IPOB. They have used their hands to crush Igbo land, our people , our businesses.
“Anybody that has Igbo blood running in him or her should reflect on what happened today in Lagos . A well known prestigious Adeleke family from Osun State could not go to SE to perform the traditional marriage for son Davido and bride,Chioma
“As beautiful And Colourful CHIVIDO’s wedding is I regret the obvious and painful truth that the event did take place in the South East . Thank you IPOB, ESN And KGM(known Gun Men). jisienu Ike ooooooo”.
