While sharing her introspection on her past marriage, she acknowledged that she prioritized emotional connection over financial security.
Although Fawole was eight years younger, he suddenly became sensitive to Jegede’s lighthearted remarks about their age difference, which he had good-naturedly tolerated for over a decade prior.
“He’s eight years older than me, but the moment we got married, if I tell am say e dey craze he will say I’m disrespecting him. It’s the same me, it’s the same se orie ope (are you crazy) that you know. I’ve always said this for over 10 years,” she explained.
However, Jegede clarified that the issue of perceived disrespect was not the primary cause of their separation. She pointed to financial imbalances as a significant factor, noting that she was the primary breadwinner during their marriage.
“Let me just state the fact I was bringing more of the money. Today I’m taking care of my son like nobody exists around me. It’s not easy and it’s not funny. I for go for money,” she stated.
