Wike gifts vehicles to security agencies

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has donated 50 operational vehicles equipped with communication gadgets to security agencies to bolster efforts against insecurity in the territory.
The Minister emphasized that any leader unable to secure citizens’ lives and property has no place in governance.
During the handover ceremony, Wike highlighted the importance of providing logistical support to security agencies to help them combat crime effectively.
The distribution of the vehicles is as follows: the FCT Police Command received 24 vehicles, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) received eight, the Advance Party/Security Monitoring and FCT Administration received six, and the Department of State Services (DSS) received five.
The Guards Brigade of the Nigerian Army was allocated three vehicles, while the Nigeria Air Force, Naval Unit, Nigerian Immigration Service, and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency each received one vehicle.
Wike stated, “We are not only focusing on infrastructure and development in the hinterlands but also prioritizing security to protect lives and properties.”
Earlier, Adamu Gwary, Director of the FCT Security Services Department, noted increasing concerns about the security situation in and around the FCT.
