NITP honours Gov Radda with fellowship award, acknowledges appointment of 4 Urban Planners in Katsina

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has been conferred with a Honourary Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP).
The award is in recognition of numerous strides of the Governor in the area of town planning, especially the appointment of four professionals town planners to key Ministry, Department and Agency in the state.
At investiture ceremony held in Enugu, this evening, the Nigerian Institute of Town Planning acknowledged Governor Radda’s strategic placement of urban planning professionals as heads of major Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Katsina State. These appointments include the Commissioner for Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, the General Manager of Urban Planning and Regional Planning Board, and the Director General of Katsina State Geographic Information Service (KATGIS).
The National President of NITP, Tpl. Nathaniel Atebije, FNITP, lauded Governor Radda’s comprehensive urban development initiatives, including the establishment of dedicated institutions for urban planning and the employment of 35 urban planning graduates. The Governor’s commitment is further demonstrated through a substantial ₦774.5 billion allocation for the Katsina Urban Renewal Project.
Accepting the fellowship award, Governor Radda expressed his profound gratitude, stating, “This recognition reinforces our commitment to urban development. Urban planning isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s a fundamental instrument for national development.”
“This fellowship will inspire us to intensify our efforts in transforming Katsina State’s urban landscape,” Governor Radda added.
The Governor, who was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri and Principal Private Secretary, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji has also earned praise for his proactive approach to flood control in urban areas and his steadfast support for the Northern Urban Planners Forum.
Governor Radda was conferred with this prestigious award alongside former Defence Minister, General T. Y. Danjuma and Founder, Africa International Housing Show, Barr. Festus Adebayo.
