EPL: Tottenham extend Son’s contract

Tottenham Hotspur have exercised the option to extend captain Son Heung-min’s contract until 2026.
The 32-year-old South Korean joined the Premier League club in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen.
Since then, Son has made 431 appearances and scored 169 goals, placing him fourth on Tottenham’s all-time scoring list.
Son, appointed club captain in August 2023, shared the Premier League Golden Boot with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the 2021/22 season after netting 23 goals.
As the captain of South Korea, Son has earned 131 caps and scored 51 goals for his national team.
This season, he has scored seven goals across all competitions for a struggling Spurs side sitting 12th in the Premier League table.
