Marsielle induct Taye Taiwo into Hall of Fame

The former Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo has been inducted into Olympique Marseille’s Club of Legends.
Taiwo, regarded as one of Nigeria’s greatest left-backs, earned 54 caps for the Super Eagles between 2004 and 2011, scoring five goals.
At the club level, he had an impressive career, featuring for top European teams, including AC Milan and Marseille, and a stint in the English Premier League with QPR.
Marseille was Taiwo’s first European club, where he spent six years, making 271 appearances, scoring 25 goals, and providing 23 assists.
He won Ligue 1, the League Cup, and the French Super Cup before moving to AC Milan in 2011.
Since retiring in 2019, Taiwo has lived in France. His recent induction into Marseille’s Club of Legends recognizes his significant impact on the club, joining notable names like Samir Nasri, Mamadou Niang, and Paulo Cezar.
Taiwo is one of only four Nigerians to have played for Marseille, alongside Wilson Oruma, Joseph Yobo, and Victor Agali.
