Tracka calls for timely implementation of projects in Gombe North
By Najib Sani, Gombe

Gombe North Senatorial District, which comprises the local government areas of Dukku, Funakaye, Gombe, Kwami, and Nafada, has been lagging behind in social and infrastructural development, a non governmental organisation, BudgiT Foundation (Tracka) asserted.
To address this, Tracka, a civic-tech organization, is urging lawmakers, local government chairmen, and stakeholders to unite for the zone’s growth.
According to Martha Daniel, Tracka’s State Officer in Gombe, “The growth and development of a state should not be left to the governor alone, but lawmakers in state and national assembly as well as local governments chairmen should also provide infrastructural projects in the area.
“We need collective efforts from all stakeholders to build the capacity of constituents through training and education, implement people-oriented projects, and address community needs such as water supply, roads, and climate change”, she suggested.
Daniel emphasised that Tracka Gombe will be monitoring the implementation of 2024 projects in the region.
She said this call to action is crucial, as the district’s development depends on the timely implementation of Zonal Intervention Projects, Consolidated Capital Projects, and Special Intervention Projects.
In a related development, Gombe State governor, Inuwa Yahaya, presented a 2025 budget proposal of N320.11 billion, with 65% allocated for capital expenditure.
This move is expected to accelerate development in the state, including the Gombe North Senatorial District.
As Tracka continues to advocate for transparency and accountability in governance, citizens are encouraged to participate in the budget tracking and implementation process and demand better service delivery from their elected representatives.
