Zirkzee apologises to Man Utd fans after penalty miss

Joshua Zirkzee has expressed his regret to Manchester United fans after missing a crucial penalty in their FA Cup defeat to Fulham.
The Dutch forward stepped up during the penalty shootout but saw his effort saved by Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno, with the miss proving decisive. Despite all four Fulham players converting their spot kicks, United’s chances faded when Victor Lindelof also missed.
It’s been a challenging debut season for Zirkzee at Old Trafford, though he had a memorable moment earlier in the campaign when he netted the winning penalty in the third-round victory at Arsenal.
Unfortunately, his penalty miss against Fulham saw another potential trophy slip away.
Taking to social media, Zirkzee shared an image with his teammates and wrote: “Sorry to let you down today Reds. Thanks for the incredible support.”
