Manchester Utd announce squad for Real Sociedad showdown

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim confirmed an 18-player squad for Thursday’s Europa League round-of-16 first-leg match against Real Sociedad.

The game, set to kick off at 17.45 CET, sees Manchester United travel to Spain with a slightly depleted squad due to injury concerns. Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte, as previously reported, will miss the tie after sustaining minor injuries during the team’s FA Cup defeat to Fulham over the weekend.

However, young midfielder Toby Collyer returns to the fold and will make the trip with the squad. Despite his domestic suspension, Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu is eligible for the European competition and is part of the travelling party. Wing-back Harry Amass is also included in the squad.

January signing Ayden Heaven, who made his senior debut for the club on Sunday, is set to join his teammates on his first European journey with Manchester United. In goal, Dermot Mee and Elyh Harrison will serve as backup to regular starter Andre Onana.
