Mainoo to reject Man United new contract – Reports

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is ready to turn down the club’s new contract proposal and leave the Premier League altogether for a move abroad.
Kobbie Mainoo’s time at Manchester United could be coming to an end after reports emerged that the 19-year-old midfielder was ready to turn down the club’s new contract proposal.
According to ‘The Guardian’, Mainoo, whose deal with the Red Devils expires in two years – June 2027 – could look to leave the Premier League altogether and opt for a move abroad, as a potential transfer to Chelsea has been shut down.
With a current weekly salary of about £20,000, the player and his representatives are keen on improving his wages to reflect his role in the squad. Man United believe Mainoo could still agree to improved terms, but do not rule out offloading him.
The same source reports that the club would be open to letting go of Mainoo for a high fee, as it would represent a huge financial boost. The Englishman is valued at around £70m, though there have yet to be direct contacts with other clubs.
The Stockport-born academy graduate joined Man United aged six, making his debut as a 17-year-old in January 2023 under Erik ten Hag. He has registered 60 appearances for the senior team and 10 caps for the Three Lions.
